Modern Healthcare Honors FAH’s Chip Kahn, Members on Annual “100 Most Influential” List

Modern Healthcare recently released its 20th annual 100 Most Influential People in Healthcare list. The Federation of American Hospitals is honored to have our membership represented, including FAH President and CEO Chip Kahn, who made the list for the 20th time – making him the only person to appear since the program started in 2001.

Modern Healthcare’s annual list is a collaboration of both the magazine’s senior editors’ rankings as well as votes from readers and the general public. After a nomination process, readers and editors pick their favorites from a preliminary ballot of 300 healthcare leaders.

Auora Aguilar, the magazine’s editor, said, “In a reflection of an evolving industry, the list has gone from recognizing executives at mostly provider and payer organizations to including outside influencers and leaders at nontraditional companies. Some of the external disrupters have promised to change the industry, only to realize that healthcare is indeed ‘complicated.’”

The following FAH leaders appeared on this year’s list:

  • Samuel Hazen, CEO, HCA
  • Chip Kahn, President and CEO, Federation of American Hospitals
  • Dr. Jonathan Perlin, President, Clinical Operations and Chief Medical Officer, HCA

This is the 20th anniversary of Modern Healthcare’s Most influential list and Chip Kahn has the distinction of being the only person to appear on the list its inception. Modern Healthcare continues to recognize Chip for his efforts to delay cuts to Medicare and his impact on federal legislation and policies.
