LAS VEGAS: The Federation of American Hospitals (FAH) presented Janet McCain, Senior Director of Business Diversity at HealthTrust Performance Group, with the 2023 Corris Boyd Diversity in Healthcare Leadership Award on Monday.
FAH recognized McCain’s accomplishments during the FAH Annual Conference and Business Exposition in Las Vegas, NV.
Nominators describe McCain as someone who leads by example and inspires others to advocate on behalf of diverse suppliers by being the voice of reason. Co-workers also say she is also well-known for highlighting the importance and benefits of diversity in the supply chain.
During her presentation speech, Kerry Price, Senior Vice President of Operations at FAH, said, “Nominators praise McCain for her mentorship – and always looking for ways to help suppliers maximize their opportunities to build relationships with key stakeholders. All these qualities really embody what this whole award is about.”
It is an FAH tradition to surprise the award recipient, and this year was no different; McCain was unaware of the honor until she was called to the stage.
Boyd’s wife, Vanessa, was also in attendance and helped present the award.
“This award is given annually in memory of our late friend. Corris Boyd was an exceptional person and an outstanding leader in workplace diversity. It is our way of keeping his legacy of excellence going,” Price said.
The Corris Boyd Diversity in Healthcare Leadership Award honors an individual or company that has made an outstanding contribution in fostering leadership in the health care industry. FAH established the award in 2007 to honor the late Corris Boyd, who spent his career working with hospital management companies and group purchasing organizations. Corris committed his life to diversity and excellence in health care. He believed that leadership development is crucial to success and was devoted to the advancement of minority- and women-owned business enterprises.
FAH is honored to present Janet McCain with the 2023 Corris Boyd Diversity in Healthcare Leadership Award and extends its thanks for her outstanding work and embodiment of the ideals the award represents.
