FAH Outlines Health Care Priorities to Biden Transition Team

WASHINGTON – The Federation of American Hospitals (FAH) sent a letter to leaders of President-elect Joe Biden’s transition team outlining policies and recommendations to consider as the incoming administration establishes its health care agenda.

“The incoming Biden Administration is appropriately focused like a laser beam on defeating COVID-19. However, they will need to simultaneously confront other health care challenges in our country, like increasing access to care for all Americans, promoting affordable care coverage, assessing reams of recent regulations, implementing surprise billing legislation and advancing health equity. As the new Biden health team delves into the details, we submit our recommendations for consideration from the view of the patient care we provide and the desire to meet our community-oriented missions. Hospitals are a keystone of America’s health care and we look forward to working with the new leadership team as they contend with the health care needs of the nation,” said Chip Kahn, FAH President & CEO.

The letter provides an agenda that the FAH recommends the incoming Administration consider in both the COVID and post-COVID health care landscapes.
