‘We are Health Care’ – FAH Celebrates Hospital Week 2023, Recognizes Frontline Caregivers

FAH President and CEO Chip Kahn released the following statement and blog to celebrate National Hospital Week:

“We are Health Care – four words that describe hospitals and the caregivers all of us depend on.

“This simple phrase is the theme of National Hospital Week 2023, which begins today, and is a great opportunity to shine a light on the vital work frontline caregivers do every day for millions of patients. Whether it is calming the fear of a child before surgery by dressing as a superhero or improving a hospital’s IT system to make virtual care seamless – we see our caregivers go above and beyond every day.

“No matter the challenges faced, from a global pandemic to a growing workforce shortage, community hospitals across the nation continue to care for everyone who comes through their doors – 24/7/365.

“While we celebrate our caregivers this week, it’s also an opportunity to remind policymakers of the critical need to support our lifesaving mission by providing hospitals with ample resources to serve our patients. Policies that cut funding, like instituting site-neutral payment, will impact patient access to care. We look forward to working with Congress to implement workable solutions that maintain and improve essential hospital services.”

FAH posted a blog recognizing the exemplary service frontline caregivers provide patients each and every day. You can read it here.
