FAH Executive Vice President of Public Affairs Charlene MacDonald issued the following statement after the Senate passed a continuing resolution to avert a government shutdown:

“Congress took necessary action tonight in passing bipartisan legislation to avert a government shutdown and delay Medicaid Disproportionate Share Hospital (DSH) cuts that threaten access to care for our most vulnerable patients. As policymakers prepare to resume negotiations on a long-term funding agreement in the coming weeks, preserving patient access to hospital care – particularly in rural and underserved communities – must remain a top priority.”
