WASHINGTON – FAH President and CEO Chip Kahn released the following statement after President-Elect Biden unveiled his COVID relief plan:

“Job one for America’s health and economy is beating back the cruel surge of COVID. The President-Elect’s bold plan confronts the pandemic on multiple fronts and will restore hope that our nation will prevail and prosper. It both provides the means for a clear strategy to make America healthy and shores up the economic health for millions of Americans.

“As welcome as this plan is, however, it does fall short in a key area.  It lacks further assistance through the Provider Relief Fund for frontline caregivers who are grappling with a record number of patients in hospitals across the nation.

“We look forward to working with the new Biden administration and Congress on this legislation. We are confident they will make the necessary supplements to this proposal so it will be the healing dose of aid we need to get us through the current crisis.”
