Today, the Federation of American Hospitals is pleased to announce the addition of Paul Kidwell, who joins our team as Vice President of Health Finance and Policy.
Paul is widely respected for his years of work on and extensive knowledge of the Medicaid program. There are few like Paul who combine experience on both Capitol Hill and in a leadership role for a major agency.
I am thrilled to have Paul on board because I am confident he will make a major contribution to the priority of our over 1000 hospitals – to expand and improve access to health coverage for all Americans.
In his new position, Paul will focus on the Medicaid program and the Children’s Health Insurance Program (CHIP) as well as other critically important hospital reimbursement issues.
Before joining the FAH, Paul served as Director of the Low Income Program Analysis Group in the Office of Legislation at CMS. In this role, he led oversight on Medicaid and CHIP. Prior to his tenure at CMS, Paul spent nearly a decade working in policy at the U.S. House of Representatives, serving as Legislative Director to Congressman (now Senator) Chris Murphy (D-CT), and Legislative Assistant to Representatives Ellen Tauscher (D-CA) and Adam Schiff (D-CA).
Paul has a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science from the University of California-Los Angeles. His first day at the FAH is August 10th.
