The bipartisan Medicare Patient Access and Practice Stabilization Act stops the 2.83% scheduled cut to physicians’ Medicare reimbursements and boosts reimbursements by 2%
FAH Executive Vice President of Public Affairs Charlene MacDonald released the following statement in support of the Medicare Patient Access and Practice Stabilization Act of 2025, jointly introduced by Representatives Greg Murphy (R-NC) and Jimmy Panetta (D-CA), which protects patient access to care and makes physicians’ Medicare reimbursements more fair by ending the 2.8% scheduled payment cut and providing a 2% payment update.
“Ensuring physicians get reimbursed fairly for the care they provide to American seniors is critical to keeping doors open for continued patient care. FAH is grateful for Reps. Murphy and Panetta’s leadership in stopping scheduled physician payment cuts, and we’ll continue protecting seniors’ access to care by working towards a long-term plan for fair physician Medicare reimbursements.”
