FAH Executive Vice President of Public Affairs Charlene MacDonald released the following statement after Senate passage of the budget resolution:
“The President has rightly made it clear that Medicaid is ‘not going to be touched,’ and key lawmakers have pledged Medicaid cuts are off the table. With the Senate advancing their budget resolution and Congress’s work on reconciliation continuing, we must continue our work to protect against Medicaid cuts that could jeopardize the health care of 70 million children, seniors, and hardworking families – and to ensure an extension this year of expiring health care tax credits that make coverage affordable for millions more.
“Both action and inaction have consequences. As Congress proceeds, they should chart a path forward that meets its agenda without sacrificing the health care of millions of Americans and threatening access to 24/7 hospitals.”
