This week, the Office of the National Coordinator for Health Information Technology (ONC) released a final version of the Connecting Health and Car for the Nation: A Shared Nationwide Interoperability Roadmap. As a result of the work of many stakeholders in recent months, the Roadmap to Interoperability provides the first final version for both the private and public sectors to review.

FAH President & CEO Chip Kahn recently attended the launch ceremony of the Center for Digital Innovation (CDI) in Israel. The Jerusalem Post covered the event, and spoke with Mr. Kahn about his perspective on the role and importance of health care startups. “…. a number of experts in healthcare, “smart cities” that use digital technologies, education and social welfare are volunteering to help Israeli entrepreneurs take their product to the US and other foreign markets…. It is the first innovation center of its kind in the capital of the Negev, and its first major focus will be on medical technologies.”

The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) recently proposed modifications to Meaningful Use in the Electronic Health Record (EHR) Incentive Program for the years 2015-2017. A strong supporter of the HITECH Law, the FAH is pleased to offer comments on these modifications, to ensure Certified EHR Technology (CEHRT) can be implemented and utilized in the most effective manner for both patients and providers.
