As FAH’s Director, Communications and Advocacy, Megan Newman spearheads the Federation’s local advocacy program, advocacy communications, and related media outreach. Megan also serves as the manager of Federation of American Hospitals PAC (FedPAC).
Previously, Megan was the Digital & Media Relations Manager for the National Capital Area Chapter of the Alzheimer’s Association. In that role, she handled strategic planning, content creation and execution of the Chapter’s digital communications. Megan also worked with the media to get Alzheimer’s stories in the news and has appeared as a spokesperson on several major TV networks. Prior to the Alzheimer’s Association, Megan managed all advocacy communications, created and implemented “Congress in your Community,” a local advocacy campaign, and other grassroots initiatives at Community Associations Institute.
Megan has a Bachelor of Arts degree in communications, a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology from Shenandoah University and is completing her master’s degree in Public Advocacy and Activism from the University of Galway in Ireland.
