As Senior Vice President, External Affairs John Funderburk leads the Federation’s Public Affairs division, directing FAH’s advocacy, communications, and coalition strategy. He has more than 20 years experience working in health care advocacy, political campaigns, and federal and state policy. Prior to joining FAH, John served as the Vice President of Advocacy for the Alzheimer’s Association and its political arm, the Alzheimer’s Impact Movement (AIM), where he led the Association’s federal and state advocacy programs.
Prior to working at the Alzheimer’s Association, John worked for the American Medical Association in its Political and Grassroots division. John also served as the Upstate Director in South Carolina for U.S. Senator Ernest F. Hollings (D-SC) and served in the Clinton Administration at both the U.S. Department of Education and the White House.
John graduated from University of South Carolina with a BA in Political Science.
