Patrick Velliky represents the Federation before the U.S. House of Representatives and U.S. Senate, advocating on a wide range of critical issues to the tax-paying hospital community.
Patrick brings a decade of federal government experience, including handling legislative issues for members of both the U.S. House and U.S. Senate, as well as providing in-house legislative advocacy on behalf of two Fortune 100 companies.
Prior to joining the FAH, Patrick served as Director of Congressional Affairs for Anthem Inc., the second largest health insurance company in the country. At Anthem, he was the lead point of contact for Members of Congress and their staff on a wide range of issues, with an emphasis on the Medicare program.
Before working for Anthem, Patrick was the Legislative Director for Former Congressman James Renacci of Ohio, a member of the Committee on Ways & Means. Patrick focused on health and tax policy, in addition to managing an active legislative staff.
Patrick also served as Manager of Federal Affairs for Humana Inc., one of the largest health insurance companies in the country, and the second largest Medicare Advantage company in the U.S.
Patrick began his career as the Floor Monitor for Senator Arlen Specter of Pennsylvania, where he was eventually promoted to Deputy Legislative Director. He is a graduate of Bloomsburg University of Pennsylvania, where he received his B.A. with a double major in History and Political Science. He lives in Washington, D.C. with his wife, son, and daughter.
