Health Groups Send Letter to HHS & DOJ re: Opioid Grant Funding and PDMPs

Today, FAH and seven other health care organizations sent a letter today to HHS Secretary Xavier Becerra and Attorney General Merrick Garland urging HHS and DOJ to rescind conditions on opioid-related grant funding that requires states to connect to a specific interstate data-sharing hub.

The letter states, “To the extent that states already have existing infrastructure for interstate data sharing and clinical integration, federal agencies should allow the states to choose the infrastructure that best meets their needs, rather than mandating duplicative connections.”

The letter was signed by FAH, American Pharmacists Association, American Society of Health-System Pharmacists, College of Psychiatric and Neurologic Pharmacists, National Association of Boards of Pharmacy, National Alliance of State Pharmacy Associations, National Association of Chain Drug Stores, and National Community Pharmacists Association.
