On Monday, April 21, 2003, the Federation of American Hospitals, along with several other sponsoring organizations, conducted an innovative day-long conference, "The American Hospital: What Does the Future Hold?". The purpose of this conference was to look beyond the immediate challenges facing hospitals, and to focus instead upon the forces and developments that likely will shape the hospital of the next decade.
